Unconfirmed, but it's now flying around Twitter that we've collected about half the signatures needed to toss my state's governor out on his ass.

It's been two weeks. We have until the tenth of January.

Holy. Shit.

I think I may need to just mail in my petitions I've got with their one signature (my husband's). This state's got it covered. They're gonna have the petitions submitted before Christmas if this keeps up.

Nice going Wisconsin!

We did get a LOT of practice earlier this year during the Senate recalls but there is a bit of a major difference here. Madison and Milwaukee get to sign and vote on this one too. There's at least 400,000(if not more)of us right there with a bit of a grudge.

I'm home for a bit of a break before I go and work a three hour shift(WHY?!) at Michael's later this morning. Then I'm off until Tuesday. And my feet might get a chance to recover. I am so tempted to buy a foot bath, but after tomorrow, I don't think I'm really going to need it. I can be on my feet for 8 hours at a time and not be too gone-my shoes aren't great, but they're not horrible either. It's the 15 hours per day, and more than one day in a row, that are doing me in.
meimichan: (President Obama)
George W. Bush is no longer our president.

I have been waiting/looking forward to this day for damn near six years. I knew after watching Powell sell his soul and know he was selling his soul to the UN that Bush just needed to go. It's been a long eight years.

Thanks to everyone who got me drunk on my 22nd birthday, I needed that. :) Oh, and dinner at The Library, that was good too. :)

I watched some of the inauguration...like, the swearing in. The poems, music and all...while the selection is decent, on the whole, it mostly just reminds me of my high school graduation, and everyone I know had a hard time staying awake through that.

On the whole, I don't really have much to say that I haven't already said.

Except this.

President Obama, do me a huge favor. DO NOT FUCK THIS UP. Oh sure, I expect some things to go wrong or some bad decisions to be made. But in the grand scheme of things...DO NOT FUCK THIS UP.

Oh yeah, and this. =^_^=

With that in mind, I'm going to go retire a few icons that served me well in 2008 and do something moderately productive. Or sleep the day away again. I'm not sure yet.

Click me.

This might be my default icon very soon, because I just keep coming across shit that makes me want to get drunk. Nope, I'll go with Veronica from 1.21 with the cutest hairstyle she ever had(ehh, not that you can tell...this was the only one she wasn't fake-smiling in though...). :) Dogma and Alan Rickman still RULE though.

On another note, go here and laugh for awhile, because politics requires finding useless humor right afterwards. Courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] flinkkamingo3. :D
